#960 - Security System in Akbaa temple can be fooled by jumping over wheel

Because of the enhanced jump length, in the Akbaa temple, in the room with the pulled-in bridge, it´s now possible to jump on the wheel and then on the edge of the other side. So you can totally evade the riddle with the security system.

#796 - Bad performance with OpenGL

Bought Arx Fatalis during this winter steam sale and it is great. I installed Arx Libertatis and noticed low fps issues. I then changed the renderer to D3D9 and it worked flawlessly. I am playing the game on a laptop with integrated Intel HD graphics (ver. 9.17.10.4229 - the latest one). Atm I am playing this game with D3D9 and apart from some minor graphical glitches (weird white texture glitch-stuff when moving through spider webs) it's working fine. Seeing that the next patch will remove the support for d3d9, I decided to report this issue. So is this Intel graphics card fault (bad opengl support) or something in the code?

#593 - [META] Rendering issues with AL 1.1+

There have been a few reports of rendering glitches, particularly in the menu. These are starting to show up now as we switched the default renderer to OpenGL and some GL implementations leave a lot to be desired, mainly the drivers for integrated Intel GPUs.

Examples:

* "[http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Arx_Fatalis/discussions/0/864973123844584369/#c864973981225261642 I ran the game, but the main menu was glitched]" ([http://imgur.com/a/vyF9C image])
** "Problem solved, the culprit was indeed my graphics card. Arx.exe was using my laptop's integrated card instead of its GeForce GT 635M, switching fixed all the issues."

* from irc: "[…] the mouse vanishes at the option screen and I'm getting a great many graphical glitches." "Was thinking it might be due to the fact that I have an HD3000" "I am in Windows 8" "Yeah, just double checked and it is 1.1.2" "D3D9 and restarted and that fixed the mouse and menu thing"

* from irc: "[…] a heavily glitched main menu with an invisible cursor?" "my graphics card is a NVIDIA geforce" ([[File:arx.log]] - showing intel drivers are used, [https://bugs.arx-libertatis.org/files/show/934 image])

* "[http://www.gog.com/forum/arx_fatalis/arx_libertatis_issues messes up the menu. All of the text has a sort of boxy pixely thing over it, and it flickers constantly. Also, my mouse cursor is completely invisible, but I can see the menu options being highlighted, and I can even click them.]"

== Debugging ==

So far we haven't been able to reproduce these glitches on any of our systems. If you have some information to add, pleas do.

== Workarounds ==

First, make sure your graphics drivers are updated to the latest version. Things get fixed, sometimes.

=== Option 1: Don't use Intel drivers ;-) ===

If you have an NVIDIA Optimus setup, make sure AL is running on the NVIDIA card and not on the Intel card.

=== Option 2: Switch back to D3D rendering ===

'''Don't do this unless nothing else works - the D3D backend has been removed in the current development code and won't be available starting with AL 1.2!'''

This can be done under Options → Video settings: Set Renderer to Direct3D '''and then restart AL''' for the setting to take effect.

If for some reason you can't change the option in the menu, go to the [http://wiki.arx-libertatis.org/Data_directories#Default_directories config directory], open '''cfg.ini''' and under "[window]" change the line starting with '''framework''' to framework="D3D9"
