Issue description
Retail box. Failed during install, with error message of summary.failed install screencapicon_open_new.png
Steps to reproduce this issue
Complete uninstall, reinstall (several times). Patch to 1.21. Install Libertatis, crashes consistently at point in screencap.

Hmmm... might be the following ?

ERROR_CANNOT_MAKE 82 (0x52) The directory or file cannot be created.

We don't have much control on that sub installer (VC++ 2010 redistributable x64...) unfortunately... Daniel, do you know if the install was done with or without administrator privileges ?

Nope, not my bug report ;-) - I just edited the description because the dxdiag output was messing up the page layout.

Sorry, didn't notice the forum registration until after posting the bug. I tried installing both with and without admin, to the same result.

Try installing this directly to see if it fails with the same error...

Run vcredist_x64.exe from the command line, and add the /log options 
  vcredist_x64.exe /log install.log


And attach that log to the issue please! smileys/2.png

Weird. Not installing either. Similar error "the directory or file cannot be created". Clearly an issue on my end, though I have no idea as of yet what's causing it. Google brings back a lot of flash drive issues in response to that specific error message.

Not from the start command line. It searches for something that isn't there, apparently. If I'm being a complete idiot and not doing it right, sorry. I had an issue a long time ago (~1.5 years) where a particular windows update did not want to install. It didn't affect anything that I could tell, so I tried to fix it a couple of times without success, and ended up putting it off until it caused problems. Which would be now, I assume. I'm not sure they're related, but now that I think of it, I do remember having directory creation issues before.

The issue I mentioned about the Windows Update is apparently this one. I'm going to try and get it fixed. If this ticket is still open, I'll let you guys know if it fixes the Libertatis install as well.
