Issue description
This is especially noticeable in Lord Inut's explosion. (save file in Bug report 525 - Lord Inut does not spawn weapon on death)

Caused by commit a6872e31d2ebc6cd24f8e2ba1851ffdd43d8a67b.

Support for special_color_flag == 2 should be reintroduced. If possible, the color jump should be fixed properly without removing the effect completely.
